Submission Guidelines for Photo Essays
Eligibility:
- Submissions are open to photographers, urban explorers, and visual storytellers who wish to share their perspectives on urban living.
- Photo essays should focus on any aspect of urban life—architecture, people, infrastructure, green spaces, social issues, or any other urban-related themes.
Format:
- Number of Photos: Your photo essay should consist of 5 to 15 images that tell a cohesive story or theme.
- Image Quality: Images must be high-resolution (preferably 300 dpi) and suitable for web publication. Images should be sharp, well-composed, and properly lit.
- Captions/Descriptions: For each image, include a brief caption or description (1-2 sentences) that explains the context, setting, or message behind the photo. This will help readers connect with your story.
- Image Orientation: While portrait and landscape orientations are welcome, ensure that the images are well-sized for web viewing. Large files may need to be resized before submission.
Originality:
- All photo essays must be original works. You must have full rights to the images submitted, and they should not have been published elsewhere.
- If your photo essay includes images created by others (e.g., featured street artists, architecture firms), please ensure proper credit and permission have been obtained.
Bio:
- Include a brief bio (50 words max) introducing yourself as a photographer or storyteller, and describing your connection to urban living or the subject matter of the photo essay. Example: “John Smith is an urban photographer with a passion for capturing the unnoticed moments of city life. His work highlights the intersection of architecture and human emotion.”
